How does it work?

What can I expect from this DNA Genotype Test?

DNA is the genetic material that encodes molecular level information It aids in predicting physical appearance, physiological processes, disease risk, etc

This is a once-in-a lifetime test with over 300 reports provides insights in nutrition, traits, fitness, and health from your genetic blueprint. This DNA Report looks at markers in your genetic profile to identify your unique qualities and traits.

A single saliva sample allows you to know more about yourself and facilitates the creation of personalized wellness products and plans, so you can make better decisions for a healthier future.

Please note that you will receive the report within 4 weeks after the sample arrives in our laboratory.

Additional reports include:

  • Ancestry: Genetic genealogy to help you discover your roots and trace your lineage. Learn about your ancestry across 7 historic eras and 150 modern population clusters.
  • Pharmacogenomics: Enable medical practitioners to personalise your medications and predict drug reactions in over 130 medications. Based on your genomic profile and analysis of over 2000 targets, this report can serve as a guide for identifying optimal drugs, drugs to avoid and their dosage requirements.

What is in my Pharmacogenetics (PGx)  report?

Pharmacogenomics is the study of the relationship between genetic variations and how our body responds to medications. It consists of Pharmacokinetics (what our body does to the drug) and Pharmacodynamics (what the drug does to our body). The genetic variations could be haplotypes/ genotypes impacting the drugs metabolism, transport, response or reaction.

By analysing the variants in pharmacogenomics genes, the PGx test can assist clinicians to determine if a medication could be an effective treatment option for you or whether you could have side effects, an Adverse Drug reaction (ADR) or toxicity to a specific medication. PGx test helps to determine the risk of an ADR before a patient even takes the medication, thus increasing patient safety and also reducing costs for healthcare facilities.

Please note that this report is for investigational use only. It is to be interpreted by a qualified and licensed medical practitioner only. This report does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Pharmacogenetics is only one of the several factors such as age, sex, ethnicity and medical history that determine a patient's response to medication.

What is in my Ancestry  report?

Humankind has been curious about its evolution and from where they originated. We have a peculiar sense to trace back to our roots. Ancestry is just a way of knowing your story of estimated origin The evolution theories of the human race suggests that they originated in Africa and eventually migrated to Eurasia. During the course survival of the human race was challenged at varied time points in history. Events like natural calamities and the rise and fall of civilizations shaped the migration of populations. The course of migration altered the socio-cultural landscape and segmented humankind into subpopulations based on ethnicity. The DNA, however, remained resolute throughout the evolutionary period spanning over 50,000 years. Each of us carries a unique DNA sequence that can reveal their ancestral origins over each historic age and trace the migratory paths taken by our ancestors.

The Ancient ancestry report is based on Ancestry Informative Markers (AIMs) and estimates heredity since ancient times. The time spans from the Paleolithic age to the current Post-Ancient Age. The report demonstrates the genomic percentage inherited by the individual across the 7 eras and the different regions within those eras.

The Lineage report tells us about the migration patterns recorded for both the paternal and maternal heritage of an individual based on their genetics. It charts a migration map with the maternal and paternal lineage traced through DNA haplogroups across periods till the recorded current common ancestor.

The Modern ancestry report evaluates ancestry based on current modern populations using AIMs. An individual's genetic profile is compared with our reference datasets of 150+ populations, clustered together at a specific sub-continent/regional level to form 37 clusters. The report will demonstrate the proportion of various modern populations recorded within the individual's genetic makeup.
